This 2 weeks Morocco itinerary is a private 14 day tour from Casablanca to Marrakech that covers the whole country in one relaxed loop: Rabat, two nights in Chefchaouen, the Roman ruins of Volubilis, Fes, two nights beside the Erg Chebbi dunes in Merzouga, Todra Gorge, Dades Valley, Ouarzazate, Ait Ben Haddou and four nights in Marrakech including a day on the coast in Essaouira.

You travel in a private air conditioned vehicle with your own English speaking driver, so every stop, photo break and detour happens on your schedule. Your driver meets you in the arrivals hall of Mohammed V Airport and takes you straight to your hotel. If you land early enough, we visit the Hassan II Mosque, the giant oceanfront landmark that dominates the Casablanca skyline. Overnight in Casablanca.
A morning drive brings you to Rabat for the Hassan Tower, the Mausoleum of Mohammed V and the whitewashed lanes of the Kasbah of the Udayas. In the afternoon you climb into the Rif Mountains and arrive in Chefchaouen, the blue town, in time for an evening stroll. Overnight in Chefchaouen.
No driving today. Wander the blue painted medina at your own pace, linger over mint tea in Plaza Uta el-Hammam, browse the artisan shops and walk up to the Spanish Mosque viewpoint for the best photo of the whole town. Overnight in Chefchaouen.
Leaving the Rif behind, we stop at Volubilis, the best preserved Roman city in Morocco, famous for its floor mosaics still lying in the open air. By evening you are in Fes, the oldest of the imperial cities. Overnight in Fes.
A licensed local guide leads you through the UNESCO listed Fes el-Bali medina: the Chouara tanneries, Al Quaraouiyine, the carved madrasas, the Royal Palace gates and the Jewish Quarter. Cars cannot enter this medina, which is why a guide who knows its 9,000 alleys makes all the difference. Overnight in Fes.
Today is the great transition from city to desert. You pass the alpine town of Ifrane, meet Barbary monkeys in the Azrou cedar forest, cross the plains around Midelt and follow the palm filled Ziz Valley to the edge of the Sahara. At Merzouga you swap the car for a camel and ride into the Erg Chebbi dunes to your desert camp. Overnight in a Merzouga desert camp.
Sunrise over the dunes is worth the early alarm. The day is yours to explore by 4×4: Khamlia village and its Gnawa musicians, nomad families in the hamada, fossil beds near Rissani and the quiet corners of Erg Chebbi most visitors never reach. Overnight in Merzouga.
After breakfast we pass the market town of Rissani, then walk the floor of Todra Gorge beneath rock walls that rise around 300 metres. The day ends among the kasbahs and strange rock formations of the Dades Valley. Overnight in Dades Valley.
A gentle day through the Valley of Roses and the Skoura palm grove brings you to Ouarzazate, the film capital of Morocco. If you are curious, visit Taourirt Kasbah or the Atlas Film Studios where dozens of Hollywood productions were shot. Overnight in Ouarzazate.
Morning at Ait Ben Haddou, the fortified mud brick village recognised by UNESCO and familiar from Gladiator and Game of Thrones. Then the road climbs over the Tizi n’Tichka pass at 2,260 metres before dropping into Marrakech by late afternoon. Overnight in Marrakech.
With a local guide you cover the Bahia Palace, the Koutoubia Mosque area, the souks and Jemaa el-Fna square, with time for Majorelle Garden if it is on your list. Overnight in Marrakech.
A day on the Atlantic coast: the fishing port, the sea facing ramparts, the relaxed medina and some of the best grilled seafood in Morocco. You are back in Marrakech for the evening. Overnight in Marrakech.
No plan, no schedule. Sleep in, take a cooking class, book a hammam, go back to the souks or just enjoy your riad. Your driver remains available if you want to go anywhere. Overnight in Marrakech.
After breakfast your driver transfers you to Marrakech Menara Airport, or back to Casablanca if your flight leaves from there. End of your 2 weeks Morocco itinerary.

March to May and September to November offer warm days and cool nights everywhere on the route. Winter is excellent for the desert and the south, though Chefchaouen and Ifrane can be cold. July and August are hot inland but the itinerary still works with early starts.
