This Morocco honeymoon tour is a private 10 day journey from Casablanca to Marrakech built for two: candlelit riads, a night for just the two of you in a luxury Sahara camp, sunset camel rides over the Erg Chebbi dunes and slow evenings in Chefchaouen and Marrakech.

The route follows Morocco at its most romantic. You wander the blue lanes of Chefchaouen hand in hand, lose yourselves in the medieval medina of Fes, watch the sand turn gold from a camel saddle at Merzouga, and finish in Marrakech, whose palaces, gardens and evening squares have been protected as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1985. Along the way you pass Todra Gorge, the Dades Valley and Ait Ben Haddou.

Day 1: Arrival in Casablanca

Your driver welcomes you at Mohammed V Airport and the honeymoon begins: check in, an optional visit to the oceanfront Hassan II Mosque, and a first dinner by the Atlantic. Overnight in Casablanca.

Day 2: Rabat and the blue evening light of Chefchaouen

A gentle morning in Rabat takes in the Hassan Tower, the Mausoleum of Mohammed V and the Kasbah of the Udayas with its Andalusian garden. By evening you are in Chefchaouen, when the day trippers have gone and the blue streets belong to the two of you. Overnight in Chefchaouen.

Day 3: Chefchaouen to Volubilis and a riad in Fes

After a slow breakfast above the rooftops, you descend to Volubilis to walk among Roman mosaics in the olive groves, then continue to Fes and check into a romantic riad in the old town. Overnight in Fes.

Day 4: Fes, made for two

With a local guide you explore the medina at your own rhythm: the tanneries, the tiled courtyards of the madrasas, the perfume and fabric souks. End the day with dinner in a candlelit riad courtyard. Overnight in Fes.

Day 5: Fes to your private corner of the Sahara

Through Ifrane and the cedar forests of the Middle Atlas, along the Ziz oasis to Merzouga. At golden hour a camel caravan carries you both into the dunes to a luxury desert camp: dinner under lanterns, drums by the fire, and a sky packed with stars. Overnight in a luxury Merzouga camp.

Day 6: A whole day in the dunes together

Wake early for sunrise over Erg Chebbi, then take the day as slowly as you like: a 4×4 ride to Khamlia for Gnawa music, tea with a nomad family, sandboarding, or nothing at all but cushions and silence. Overnight in Merzouga.

Day 7: Merzouga to Todra Gorge and the Dades Valley

The desert gives way to canyon country. Walk the cool floor of Todra Gorge, then follow the palm groves into the Dades Valley, where your evening view is of kasbahs and folded red rock. Overnight in Dades Valley.

Day 8: Ait Ben Haddou and over the Atlas to Marrakech

Through the Valley of Roses and Skoura oasis to Ait Ben Haddou, the fortified village of a hundred films, then up and over the Tizi n’Tichka pass to Marrakech. Overnight in Marrakech.

Day 9: Marrakech, palaces and rooftops

A guided morning covers the Bahia Palace, the Koutoubia and the souks. The afternoon is yours: a couples hammam and spa, the Majorelle Garden, then a rooftop dinner as the call to prayer echoes over Jemaa el-Fna. Overnight in Marrakech.

Day 10: Departure

One last riad breakfast together before your private transfer to Marrakech Menara Airport, or to Casablanca if your flight leaves from there. End of your Morocco honeymoon tour.

Can you arrange special touches for our honeymoon?

Is the desert camp private and comfortable?

We recommend luxury camps at Erg Chebbi with private en suite tents, real beds, hot showers and heating in winter. Dinner and breakfast are included at the camps, and your tent faces the dunes rather than the road.

Can we adjust the pace or route?

Everything bends to you. Add a second night in Chefchaouen, swap a city for the Agafay desert near Marrakech, or extend to Essaouira on the coast. It is your honeymoon, and the itinerary is only the starting point.

How far in advance should we book our honeymoon tour?

One to three months gives you the best choice of romantic riads and private desert camps, especially for April, May, September and October dates. That said, we regularly arrange beautiful honeymoons on two weeks notice, so ask even if your wedding is close.

Can we combine this tour with a few beach days?

Perfectly. The most popular extension is two or three nights in Essaouira or the surf coast around Taghazout after Marrakech, and your driver simply continues with you. Tell us how many days you have and we balance touring and beach time.
